Peer review policy

The Bolivian Journal of Education places a clear emphasis on the quality and relevance of the articles it publishes. This is achieved through the application of strict thematic guidelines that authors must rigorously follow. By demanding that submissions align with these guidelines, the journal ensures that its content is consistent with its objectives and remains at the head of educational discussion. This rigorous selection of articles not only benefits the journal by maintaining its quality standards but also provides readers with assurance that they will find relevant and valuable research in the field of education.

Additionally, the implementation of a “blind” peer review process with two external evaluators strengthens objectivity and impartiality in the assessment of articles. By ensuring that both authors and evaluators remain anonymous throughout the process, any potential preference based on identity or affiliation is eliminated. This emphasis on impartiality contributes to the integrity of the editorial process and ensures that articles are accepted or rejected based on their academic merit and contribution to the field of education. Ultimately, the Bolivian Journal of Education stands out as a reliable and rigorous academic event that promotes excellence in educational research.

The results of this evaluation may be as follows:

  • Article rejection
  • Re-evaluable with major modifications
  • Publishable with minor modifications
  • Accepted

In case of a disagreement between evaluators, a third one is consulted; his judgment will help determine whether the article should be published or not. The final decision will be made at a meeting of the Editorial Board, where the individual reports from the evaluators will be discussed, and a definitive decision is issued.

If the article is approved with corrections, the authors must develop the suggested modifications and resubmit the article. These corrections will be verified through a second review by the original evaluators. If the corrections are not solved within the established period of time, the article will be scheduled for publication in a later issue of the journal. The entire process, from the reception of the article to its acceptance, generally takes about six months.
